Internationalisation
Internationalisation is a key part of our strategic university development. Incoming and outgoing exchanges of students, teaching staff, researchers and administrative staff help to make our university an intercultural learning environment where key competences are acquired that are of central importance for the future careers of our graduates across various sectors of education. This is underpinned by our network of international partner universities and our participation in international scholarship and funding programmes. International networking is a key driver for innovative research and teaching in collaboration with international partners.
Incoming exchange programmes at our university
International exchange students from our partner universities, international undergraduate students and visiting lecturers from abroad bring a wide range of intercultural learning opportunities to our university and enrich our courses with diverse perspectives, knowledge and methods.
International researchers collaborate with colleagues at the Karlsruhe University of Education to initiate projects and contribute their specific expertise to research at our university.
Studying, teaching and conducting research abroad
Conversely, the Karlsruhe University of Education supports study abroad programmes for students, teaching staff, researchers and administrative staff. The focus is on the acquisition of key competences and international networking at an individual level, with a view to further developing the professional skills of those receiving support.
Our international partner universities
Our university maintains a wide range of partnerships with international partners. These offer our students, lecturers, researchers and university staff a wide range of opportunities for international exchange, cross-border collaboration and individual mobility.
Funding opportunities for stays abroad
Our students have various options to apply for funding for study or practice-related stays abroad. These include, for example, funding from the Erasmus+ programme, DAAD funding schemes or the Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM. Staff in teaching, research and administration may also be eligible for funding under the Erasmus+ staff mobility scheme. Students and staff can find detailed information in the restricted-access section of our website (“Funding opportunities for stays abroad”). The International Office will be happy to advise you!
Projects with international partners
In addition to reciprocal student exchanges, our collaboration with our international partners also takes place within the framework of a wide range of international projects. In addition to academic exchange, the focus here is often on international teaching and learning collaborations, which give our students the opportunity to work alongside students from our partner universities, attend guest lectures by international academics or take part in internationally oriented courses.
Further information on international projects can be found via this link.
